I’m Going to Be Consistent With Fantasy Football This Time

This is my public declaration.

In previous years, I’ve forgotten about it after a few weeks.

But this year, I’ve picked my team already and plan to follow these 5 tips from last year’s winner. He’s a 23-year old Danish medical student who’d never played before.

Here are his tips:

  1. Consistency is key – Show up every week and plan 3-5 weeks ahead by looking at upcoming fixtures.
  2. Find budget ‘enablers’ to fit in more superstars – Concentrate your funds on a few superstars or spread out your budget to get 16 dependable players? Last season’s winner believes it’s the latter. “Also, think about players likely to get plenty of defcon (defensive contribution) points.”
  3. Be ruthless and don’t just pick your favourite players – Enough said.
  4. Haaland is a must – There’s no player quite like him.
  5. Save your transfers to act as mini-wildcards – “”Last season my strategy was to mostly transfer two or three players at a time. I’d be very patient, saving up to make big rotations.”

We’ll see how it goes.
