The Power of Goals

Me and my girlfriend took a train to York.

It was her first “Clarity Day”.

What the f*ck’s that?

It’s something we coined. Basically, you decide on your goals for the year.

(In our case, for the rest of 2026.)

I’ve followed a 12-month plan religiously since 2021, and it’s helped me achieve all manner of things. Success in relationships. Business. Writing.

You name it.

So we took our laptops, drank coffee at York’s Railway Museum cafe (highly recommend), and laser focused on our goals. One of my girlfriend’s is to start working in her own creative space separate from our flat.

The process took about 2 hours. To reward ourselves, we then pottered along the river, grabbed ice cream, and ate at a cutesy little restaurant.

Now here’s where things get interesting.

Two months ago, I clocked a sign advertising a garage and/or workshop space. I didn’t think much of it, but I took a picture anyway. I thought my girlfriend might be interested:

Well, a few days ago, we visted said workshop space that’s about a 2 minute walk from where we live.

And it’s perfect.

It’s tucked away down a small sideroad next to the family business that owns it, is big enough for my girlfriend to work from, and the price is good (with electricity included).

She’s confirmed it with the owner today!

Long story short?

Set goals.

The Universe, God, coincidence – whatever you want to call it – seems to conspire in your favour when you do.
